TV Recap: Conspiracy 365, December

Well, well, well!  Callum Ormond (Harrison Gilbertson) boy genius has done it.  He stole thirty grand, got his fake passport, used his secret twin brother Ryan/Samuel to throw the cops off the scent, went to Ireland, fought off the baddies until they died horrible well deserved deaths, found the last two lines of the riddle and then opened the magical Ormond family vault to find it filled with gazillions of dollars in jewels and gold.  Whew!  Glad that riddle got sorted.  What didn’t get sorted was why Cal would actually die if he didn’t open the vault on time.  It was, after all, sitting there for centuries and I doubt his dead ‘illegitimate’ relatives knew when December 31st 2012 actually was.

Also weird was the convenient disappearance of Oriana (Julia Zemiro) a few episodes back after the cops arrested her.  Her story didn’t really seem to have a point after all the emphasis placed on her desire for the ‘Ormond Singularity’.

Naturally Cal had help from super sweet bestie Bogues (Taylor Glockner) who told his mum he was on a school excursion and by new found love Winter (Marnie Kennedy) who is now alone in the world after meanie Vulcan (Rob Carlton) fell off a cliff after attempting to murder her in Ireland.  Strangely Ireland looked a little bit like country Victoria and the Irish characters were Australians with poor accents but realism was never really Conspiracy 365’s strong point!

Dirty old Uncle Rafe (David Whiteley) turned out to be the reason behind the whole thing.  I did have that inkling. Just saying.  It started to get a bit obvious towards the end. Lucky for Emily (Kate Kendall) realizing Rafey-not-safey was drugging her tea and she started drinking water instead.  Only taking two months to realize she was being poisoned didn’t seem like a far leap for the most unintelligent mother in the entire world.  Poor Emily.  So dumb and yet so loveable.

And so, the tale ends and Cal gets his life back, gets a cutie girlfriend to match as well as being super rich and good looking.  Things panned out pretty well for our hero in the end.

Now, most importantly, he can afford a haircut and a good wash.  Turns out that 365 days on the run can get quite grimy. A small price to pay for fortune and freedom I guess. Oh Cal.  Whatever will I do without your miraculous escapes and ingenious plans? I’ve bought Macgyver seasons 1 through 8 to cope with my withdrawals.

Conspiracy 365  is a Circa Media Production and aired on FMC
